Fraser-McGurk Storm Blows Away Lucknow: Delhi Capitals Secure Thrilling 6-Wicket Win

In a classic mid-week IPL thriller, the Delhi Capitals (DC) pulled off a spectacular chase at the Ekana Stadium, defeating the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 6 wickets with just three balls to spare. The hero of the night was young Australian sensation Jake Fraser-McGurk, whose unbeaten 74 turned a daunting chase into a statement victory.

First Innings: Pooran Powers LSG to Competitive Total
After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals started strong, keeping the LSG openers quiet during the powerplay. However, Nicholas Pooran had other plans. Coming in at number four, the West Indian southpaw played a blistering knock of 62 off 34 balls, decorated with five massive sixes.

Supported by a steady 41 from Quinton de Kock, LSG looked set for 200+. But Delhi’s Kuldeep Yadav checked the momentum in the middle overs, finishing with clinical figures of 2/28. LSG eventually finished their 20 overs at 184/6, a total many thought would be enough on the typically slow Lucknow surface.
The Chase: The Fraser-McGurk Show
Delhi’s chase began cautiously after losing David Warner early to a sharp delivery from Mayank Yadav. Enter Jake Fraser-McGurk. The youngster took the game by the scruff of the neck, targeting the LSG spinners and clearing the long boundaries with ease.
His partnership with Rishabh Pant (35 off 22) provided the backbone of the innings. Even as Mayank Yadav (2/31) returned to clock speeds of 150kmph+, Fraser-McGurk remained unfazed, finishing the game with a flourish. Delhi reached 188/4 in 19.3 overs, sealing their first major away win of the season.
